Day #13-
YOU ARE IMPORTANT
This is to piggyback off of yesterday and following your instincts. Sometimes we forget that we are important and that our emotions means something. Learn to recognize what you are feeling. Whatever emotion that is presenting itself is coming from somewhere. There are days that you might feel stressed out or sad, stop and ask yourself why. So often we just try to power through whatever we are feeling in order to facilitate the happiness of others or complete a task we were given. Sometimes that's okay, but not all the time. Make sure that you realize that down deep you might just need more sleep and find time allow yourself to do that. You are important and if you are not taking care of your needs then eventually you are going to stop presenting your best self to others (and that can get ugly).
I have been feeling a little overwhelmed and unseasonably sad recently. For me I know this means that I need to start getting up early again. That time is such a gift to myself. Time when I can start my day off right. Today someone shared a quote with me that I thought was so applicable to what I have been struggling with. I think I am going to frame it and hang it next to my bed, so I can read it when I go to hit the snooze on my alarm.
"We can choke God's word with a yawn; we can hinder the time that should be spent with God by remembering we have other things to do. 'I haven't the time!' Take time, strangle some other interests and make time to realize that the center of power in your life is the Lord Jesus Christ and His atonement."
-Oswald Chambers
