This year I made a bunch of Watermelon Jelly in September, to give out as Christmas presents. It's such a wonderful feeling to have so many Christmas presents finished before fall even gets here.
That was the main chunk of our homemade goods, but this is the one that I really wanted to share...
Joel and I love making things and the thing that made this project extra special is that we could each use our talents on the same project. The game boards were started in the beginning of December and worked on faithfully, step by step, until their completion the week before Christmas. Two days before Christmas (Christmas Eve Eve) Joel said, "I need a container for the marbles and dice, you should sew a bag." Now there was only one problem with this plan. I don't know how to sew. yet. But I do know how to Crochet. One day and six movies later I was finished with both draw string bags using this pattern.
It's special when we can work together and even more so when we watch games being played with them after they are unwrapped. It makes everything worth it.
Those game boards are wonderful! You should sell them...LOL!
ReplyDeleteWe have thought about it. Maybe Joel has an Etsy shop in his future...
ReplyDeleteWhich tool did you use for the gameboard? My husband was trying to figure out something similar but couldn't get the "cup" feel from whatever he was using.
ReplyDeleteHe used a plunge router with a 1/2in Round Nose bit.
